Even cats know that evil must be confronted. Boena and ertina have chosen an unusual place for their feline lives: at the base in Honington, they share a temporary home with Czechoslovak pilots fighting Nazi Germany in England. The fearless pilots soon grow fond of the two furry beauties, even though they cannot understand their language. The harmonious coexistence of the human and animal inhabitants of Hangar 11 is disrupted by the invasion of the German rats Helmut and Jrgen, treacherous and wicked, though also somewhat comical and foolish admirers of Adolf Hitler. Stopping the ambitious intruders becomes a matter of honour for the brave cats, who join forces for the purpose even with their age-old rivals, the dogs. The clash awaiting Boena and ertina is as fierce and dangerous as the battles fought in the sky by their human friends from the 311th Squadron. In his first book for children, the author of successful historical fiction presents the lives and mission of Czechoslovak pilots in England during the Second World War with humour and suspense. One of them, Vilm Jak, also appears in his novel Vilda.
