Jaroslav Haek – Vbr z dla svtov proslulho spisovatel – CDmp3

This Czech-language MP3 audiobook presents a selection from the work of Jaroslav Haek, exploring animals, people, life and love through stories, excerpts from The Good Soldier vejk and memories of Haek by Josef Lada. The recordings feature Jan Werich, Vlasta Burian, Rudolf Hrunsk, Jiina ejbalov, Josef Somr, Petr Nron, Viktor Preiss, Vojtch Dyk, Ivan Luptk, Jakub Albrecht, Vojtch Vondrek, Ladislav Frej, Vlastimil Brodsk, Ferenc Futurista, Vojta Merten, Joka Wannerov, Jaroslav Marvan, Miroslav Tborsk and Alois vehlk. Issued to mark the 140th anniversary of Haeks birth, the collection draws on Supraphons archive recordings, including 1936 recordings of The Good Soldier vejk performed by Ferenc Futurista, scenes from the 1946 Vtrnk Theatre production with Vlastimil Brodsk, and previously unused test recordings of vejk with Jan Werich. The opening stories are largely inspired by Haeks time editing the magazine Svt zvat, where he found in animals models of behaviour that people often conceal beneath the veneer of upbringing. The closing bonus contains stories previously unreleased in audio, read by young actors Ivan Luptk, Jakub Albrecht and Vojtch Vondrek. Throughout, Haek compares the lives of animals and people with moving philosophical humour.
