When you are a full-time witch, there is no time for love or fear because you are too busy working. The people of the Chalk finally have a witch of their own, and what a witch she is, but they have lost their benefactor, the old Baron Chumfurttam. With plenty to keep her busy, Tiffany Aching travels to Ankh-Morpork to find his son and heir, Roland, the young man with whom she has been through so much and who once seemed destined to become her husband. Instead, he is engaged to the beautiful Letitia, who turns out to be an untrained but talented witch. Preparations for a funeral and a wedding are overshadowed by an unexpected threat: the Cunning Man, a terrifying witch hunter with empty sockets instead of eyes, is relentlessly pursuing Tiffany. With the help of the loyal and combative Nac Mac Feegle, can she defeat the devilish monster? This is the fourth story about Tiffany Aching in Terry Pratchetts Discworld series.
