Neomillnerov: Amlie a tma – 2 CD

This Czech-language audiobook captures the atmosphere of a mysterious story about an unusual friendship. Petra Neomillnerov, known for her vampire novels and novellas in the fantasy genre, wrote this unusual, convincing and successful childrens book about the fateful friendship between two girls, Amlie and Markta. Amlie is the ghost of a drowned girl who died with her mother, a famous opera singer, 122 years ago during a great flood in Prague. An unexpected meeting with Markta brings her joy again, giving her someone to play with, laugh with and talk to. Markta has troubles of her own: her friends do not understand her, while her mother barely has enough money to support them. The girls keep their friendship secret until Amlie saves Markta from drowning, changing both their lives. The story is narrated alternately by the two heroines. Nikola Votokov voices Amlie and Vladana Drvotov voices Markta, while Veronika Gajerov and Lenka Zbrankov portray their mothers. Music by Dan Fikejz heightens the mysterious atmosphere and dramatically separates the worlds of the living and the dead.
