Zvec legendy Roderguez Robredo Diego (2026)

This book, in Czech, presents fact-based stories about animals that have left an indelible mark on human history. Its engaging text and beautiful illustrations recount surprising episodes, including a giraffe given as a gift to the King of France that sparked a fashion craze, a polar bear swimming freely in the Thames and catching fish, and an elephant with a missing tusk that terrified enemy ranks. The book encourages respect and love for animals and rejects viewing living creatures as objects for gifts or entertainment. It is illustrated by Diego Rodrguez-Robredo, an illustrator and archaeologist who studied scientific drawing and illustration at the University of Bilbao. His first book, Femina Sapiens, became a bestseller and has been translated into 20 languages.
