Zmek uprosted svta trfeldov Milena (2026)

This Czech-language historical novel follows the stories of numerous figures connected by an inconspicuous chateau in Central Bohemia. What links the Jewish sugar magnate Ferdinand Bloch-Bauer, originally from Mlad Boleslav, with the rural schoolteacher von Osten from the island of Fehmarn in Schleswig-Holstein, or the painter Gustav Klimt with Kurt Nowak, a police informer from Jihlava? And above all, what connects the famous Lady in Gold with Lina Heydrich, the widow of the Prague executioner? The chateau is now falling into disrepair, but it was once the setting for one of the great stories of the dramatic twentieth century.
