When a young woman is brutally murdered in the Norfolk countryside, locals blame Black Shuck, a mythical wild dog. There is one problem: the wounds on her body show that she was not killed by an animal. Detective Chief Inspector Robert Kett is battling his own demons. His wife is still missing, injuries from his last case cause constant pain, and he must find a way to care for his three young children. When a second victim appears, even more brutally killed than the first, Kett becomes entangled in the hunt for one of the most ruthless serial killers England has ever seen, a killer who may also be hunting Kett himself. This fast-paced British crime thriller keeps you turning the pages.
