Zamilovan – CD

This CD presents a reissue of Lenka Filipovs celebrated debut album, whose title song, Zamilovan, remains one of her best-known hits. A classically trained guitarist with a strong affinity for French music, Filipov entered the Czech music scene as an unusual new presence in 1981. The album combines delicate singer-songwriter material with collaborations with Christian Cabrel, several cover versions and original compositions by Stano Regal, Zdenk John, Milan Tesa, tpn Rak and Karel Svoboda, while Zdenk Ryt and Michael Prostjovsk helped establish her distinctive lyrical profile. The CD reissue also includes bonus tracks selected by Filipov herself, reflecting her conservatory training through music by her instrumental colleagues Tesa and Rak, including three songs with poetic lyrics by Vtzslav Nezval. The track selection includes Zamilovan (Je laime mourir), Jak se to svt (Nur die Liebe zhlt), Mona Lisa, Pesta si hrt na trpen (Une star a sa faon), Milin pbh, Entertainer (Barbara), Beznadjn ppad, Vyjdi ven, Vran blues (Dont It Make My Brown Eyes Blue), Favorit (Hafanana), asn rno, Quo vadis?, Sloky o Praze, Pse o vesu, A, Chtla bych zstat, jakou m zn, Most nad Loirou, Parta koovnk and Pbh tchto dn.
