What Lies Beneath: My Life as a Forensic Search and Rescue Expert Faulding Peter (2024)

From cold cases and serial killers to the death of a spy, Peter’s true life story is as gripping as the finest thriller Peter James, author of Picture You Dead. What Lies Beneath is Peter Fauldings compelling memoir of murder, investigation and justice. As a world-leading forensic search expert, he recovers bodies, finds discarded remains, identifies unmarked graves and saves people from places and situations too dangerous for normal emergency services. From removing protesters from dangerous tunnels to investigating the scenes of some of the UKs most notorious crimes, he describes how he became a highly regarded and highly skilled search specialist who assists investigators and police in examining crime scenes and bringing serial killers to justice. Peter provides new details about some of the countrys most harrowing murder cases, including those involving serial killer Peter Tobin, Nicola Payne and Helen McCourt, sheds new light on mysterious deaths such as that of MI6 worker Gareth Williams, and details the extraordinary lengths he goes to when helping investigators. He takes readers through deadly booby-trapped tunnel systems, dark waters concealing horrific secrets, uninviting crime scenes and the minds of killers.
