Vtkyn Dn Dominik (2026)

The homicide detectives have encountered every imaginable type of offender, but never a case in which a ruthless killer has damaged teeth matching those of the victim. A girl who met the murderer in the woods pays cruelly for the encounter; a passing runner finds her too late, and she bleeds to death. Even the experienced forensic pathologist Dr Lengyel is left bewildered by her devastated body and, after a long time, has to call in a consultant. The investigation is further complicated by the return of an old case involving the missing son of a wealthy Austrian businessman, causing the forces of Office 141 to split up again. As soon as Chos and Krauz close the first case, a fortune-teller unexpectedly enters the second. She confidently claims to read answers from cards and to locate even the most hidden places with a pendulum. Her prediction comes true: the missing son is found dead. However, she agrees to reveal where his remains are buried only after receiving a substantial reward. The pendulum leads them to the bones, and the case can be closed. But luck is fickle, just like a magical pendulum. The book is in Czech.
