This textbook, in Czech, introduces the history and development of public health, its principles, current issues at the level of the European Union and the Czech Republic, and the health and social determinants affecting the health of the population. It presents the healthcare systems of selected countries and explains the role of the World Health Organization and the European Union in promoting public health, including their community projects. It also addresses the national health policy of the Czech Republic, its management, the stakeholders involved in public health and their roles, the current system for financing curative and preventive care in the Czech Republic, and the system for protecting and promoting public health.
