This Czech-language textbook introduces the history and development of public healthcare, its principles, current issues at the level of the European Union and the Czech Republic, and the health and social determinants that affect the health of the population. It also covers the Czech national health policy, its management, the organisations and individuals involved in public healthcare and their roles, the current system for financing curative and preventive care, and the system for protecting and promoting public health. It is intended for students at secondary medical schools and secondary schools specialising in health and social care in the Czech Republic.
