Upgrade 9 – Students Book RVP (2026)

Upgrade 9 is an English-language Students Book for lower-secondary school students and students at the lower level of multi-year grammar schools. The course follows a communicative approach and develops all four language skills evenly, with a level slightly above A2. It extensively develops language resources using contemporary English. Topics close to students age group, colourful illustrations, project tips, games and new-media-style videos such as vlogs help maintain motivation. The Compass section in each lesson adds interesting information related to the topic and connects learning with students lives, other subjects and the world outside school. Unit 0 covers nature, culture and media, with revision of eighth-year grammar; Unit 1 focuses on future plans and turning points in life, including all forms of the future tense; Unit 2 covers entertainment, the entertainment industry and historical events, including second conditional sentences; Unit 3 explores social networks and the internet, including reported speech; Unit 4 deals with modern technology and social issues, including modal verbs; and Unit 5 covers shopping and advertising, including countable and uncountable nouns.
