In 1926, five women disappear from a remote island in Vermont. A century later, struggling actress Marin Keane lands a role in a major motion picture about the unsolved mystery of New Avalon, an island in Lake Faraday, and learns that the role includes a weeklong research trip there. New Avalon was once a commune for spiritual mediums, until its residents vanished, leaving only five dresses hanging from an old oak tree. Some locals believe the women left, while others suspect murder. According to the diary of Daisy Rue, one of the missing women, a sance gone wrong summoned something supernatural that took them one by one. After Marin arrives with legendary actress Violet Wright, director Ronan Peters and the rest of the cast, strange noises and mysterious symbols suggest that something is wrong. When a sudden health emergency leaves them stranded, the disappearances begin again. Marin turns to Daisys diary for answers, trying to discover what happened to the women of New Avalon and prevent its terrible history from repeating itself.
