Two Gentlemen of Verona (2015)

This English-language Shakespeare comedy explores the conflict between friendship and romance and features one of his most memorable clowns. Leaving behind both home and his beloved, a young man travels to Milan to meet his closest friend, but falls in love with his friends new sweetheart and resolves to seduce her. Love-crazed and desperate, he soon commits cynical acts of betrayal, revealing how passion can prove more powerful than even the strongest loyalty. The edition includes general and separate introductions, a chronology, suggestions for further reading, an essay on performance options on stage and screen, and a commentary.
