Totonost – CDmp3 (te Radz Mcha)

This Czech-language audiobook presents Milan Kunderas insight into the labyrinth of the human mind through the perspective of humour. In his second novel written in French, Kundera returns to the many-sided theme of love and focuses with almost pedantic precision on the experience of an ageing, childless couple, Jean-Marc and Chantal. In a dreamlike, existential narrative, their anxious and obsessive relationship becomes increasingly grotesque, raising questions about the identity of loving beings on the uncertain and unstable ground of love. Even Jean-Marc recognizes his hysterical crying at the thought of losing Chantal as a tragicomic performance staged by his own mind. Radz Mchas restrained yet subtly dramatic reading emphasizes the existential dimension of the narrative as a focused inquiry into human uniqueness.
