To Gaze Upon Wicked Gods Chang Molly X. (2024)

In this epic anti-colonial young adult fantasy by debut author Molly X. Chang, Ruying, known as the Girl Blessed by Death, wants only to survive. For as long as she can remember, the empire of Er-Lang has been occupied by Romans, whose advanced science and military power make them seem like gods. But these gods offer only cruelty, opian and destruction. When Antony, the second Prince of Rome, discovers Ruyings magic, she becomes the perfect assassin, just as she always feared. As tensions rise and rebellion stirs, Ruying must decide whether saving her family is worth betraying her country. She can no longer deny that peace is a death sentence for Er-Lang, but she may not be willing to deliver it.
