Tn Spitov Lize (2017)

What if you could take revenge on an entire village? In 1988, only three children are born in the village of Bovenmeer: the boys Pim and Laurens and the girl Eva. Until puberty, they form an inseparable trio guided by the motto one for all, all for one. In the summer of 2002, however, their relationship suddenly changes. The boys invent a game for the village girls, a game for which they need Eva, who must decide whether to join them or betray their friendship. Trying to escape the difficult situation, Eva devises a plan that eventually gets out of hand and cruelly turns against her. Thirteen years later, Eva returns to the village with a huge block of ice in the trunk of her car. This time, however, she has everything under control. Lize Spit draws readers into the story from the very first sentence and keeps their attention until the end. Ruthless yet loving, the novel moves and unsettles in equal measure.
