This CD presents three works by Frantiek Ignc Antonn Tma: Te Deum (1745), Missa Veni Pater Pauperum (1736) and Sinfonia ex C. The world-premiere recording features sopranos Romana Krukov and Pavla Radostov, alto Monika Jgerov, tenor Jakub Kubn, bass Ji Miroslav Prochzka and Czech Ensemble Baroque conducted by Roman Vlek. Tmas finely developed counterpoint reflects his studies with the renowned Viennese master J. J. Fux, while his music also shows his ability to adopt the most modern expressive techniques of the emerging galant style. The three works capture different stages of the composers artistic development. Missa Veni Pater pauperum was composed in 1736 for Viennas historic Benedictine Schottenstift during Tmas service to Count Frantiek Ferdinand Kinsk. The festive Te Deum, written in 1745 for the Cistercian monastery in Wilhering, was repeatedly performed there for the Feast of Corpus Christi. Sinfonia ex C probably dates from the final years of Tmas life, when he retired to the Premonstratensian monastery in Geras. These three festive works, recorded for the first time, present Tma as a composer deserving exceptional attention.
