The Year Of The Flood Atwoodov Margaret (2014)

By the author of The Handmaids Tale and Alias Grace, this novel opens as the sun brightens in the east over a distant ocean, vultures dry their wings on power poles, and the air smells faintly of burning. A man-made plague known as the waterless flood has ended the world, but two young women have survived: Ren, a young dancer trapped at the upmarket sex club where she worked, and Toby, who watches and waits from her rooftop garden. The question remains whether anyone else is still out there.
