The Selfish Gene : 40th Anniversary edition Dawkins Richard (2018)

The Selfish Gene is a classic exposition of evolutionary thought, presenting evolution from a genes-eye view in which persistent units of information take centre stage and organisms can be understood as vehicles for their replication. Richard Dawkinss imaginative and influential work brought the insights of Neo-Darwinism to a wide audience, stimulated extensive debate in the biology community and helped generate new areas of research. Forty years after its first publication, its ideas remain relevant to evolutionary biology. This 40th-anniversary edition includes a new epilogue by the author on the continuing relevance of these ideas, together with the original prefaces and foreword and extracts from early reviews.
