The Inadequate Heir Jensen Danielle L. (2022)

Raised as both a soldier and heir to an empire, General Zarrah is driven by two truths: the Veliant family murdered her mother, and she will be the one to deliver vengeance. The Endless War has devastated her people, so when Zarrah is given command of the city at the center of the conflict, she vows to destroy the gathered forces and their Veliant prince leader. Yet a chance encounter with an anonymous, handsome enemy soldier complicates her plans, especially when they discover they share the same dreams and begin to find passion in each others arms. When the soldiers identity is revealed, Zarrah must choose between war and peace.
