The Explorer Rundellov Katherine (2018)

From his seat in a tiny aeroplane, Fred watches the mysteries of the Amazon jungle pass below him. He has always dreamed of becoming an explorer, making history and seeing his name among the great discoveries. If only he could land and look around. When the plane crashes into the canopy, Fred suddenly has no choice. He and three other children may be alive, but the jungle is vast and untamed. With no hope of rescue, the possibility of getting home seems impossibly small. Except that someone appears to have been there before them. This English-language adventure novel by Katherine Rundell is a winner of the Childrens Book Prize, the Costa Childrens Book Award 2017 and the London Book Fair Childrens Travel Book of the Year.
