The Dagger and the Flame Doyle Catherine (2024)

In the beautiful city of Fantome, two rival guilds control the scarce and deadly power of shade-magic: the Cloaks, who are thieves, and the Daggers, who are assassins. After her mother is murdered, seventeen-year-old Seraphine seeks sanctuary with the Cloaks and sets her heart on revenge. But her secret abilities may be no match for Ransom, the dark-haired heir to the Order of Daggers, who is astonished to discover that the seemingly unassuming farmgirl possesses a strange, blazing magic. As rumours spread of monsters stalking the streets and the rival guilds fight for control of Fantomes underworld, Sera and Ransom are drawn together by more than magic and must choose between forgiveness and vengeance, a kiss and a killing, a dagger and a flame.
