The Crimson Moth (The Crimson Moth 1) Ciccarelli Kristen (2024)

This romantic fantasy follows a witch and a witch hunter who fall in love after a devastating revolution. Witches have been reduced from powerful rulers to outcasts, ruthlessly hunted as their magic wanes, and Rune must conceal her identity. By day, she pretends to be a vapid young socialite; by night, she becomes the Crimson Moth, a vigilante rescuing witches from purges. When a rescue goes wrong, Rune courts the handsome and unforgiving witch hunter Gideon Sharpe to distract him and obtain vital information, though she cannot stop herself from falling for him. Gideon despises the decadence and superficiality Rune represents, but when he discovers that the Crimson Moth uses her merchant ships to smuggle renegade witches out of the republic, he enters her social circle by pretending to court her. Beneath her beautiful, shallow faade, he finds someone intelligent and tender who seems like his perfect match. But what if she is the very villain he has been hunting? This is the thrilling beginning of a romantic fantasy duology in which nothing is more treacherous than falling in love with a witch.
