Texty psn – Spisy Jaroslava Hutky, sv. 1 (2026)

This first volume of Jaroslav Hutkas collected writings brings together more than 350 song lyrics by a major figure among the first generation of Czech urban singer-songwriters and a founding member of afrn. Arranged chronologically, it follows Hutkas work from his early original songs of the 1960s through his dissident period, with lyrics shaped by the idea of civic freedom, his compositions from exile, and songs reflecting changes in Czech society after 1989, as well as current issues such as globalization, migration and the ecological crisis. The book is intended not only for folk-music enthusiasts but also for readers interested in the cultural and political history of the second half of the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries. It presents an artistic portrait of one of the most distinctive voices in Czech singer-songwriter music, whose musical expression, linked to a poetic search for truth, remains a powerful means of social reflection and a call for civic engagement. The contents are in Czech.
