Tag Team

Tag Team is a card-based fighting game that combines autobattler and deckbuilding mechanics with a distinctive twist: players never shuffle their decks. Each player combines two unique fighter decks and begins with a battle deck containing just two cards, one for each fighter. During the fight, players reveal one card at a time simultaneously and follow the instructions; once both cards have been played, the round ends. Players then draw three cards from their build deck, made up of their two fighters decks, and add one of them to their battle deck without changing the existing card order. In the next round they play three cards, continuing to fight and build until one player is knocked out. The fixed deck order places strong emphasis on timing and makes every decision matter several rounds later, while each fighters individual style, special rules and unique mechanisms make every pair play differently. The short playing time supports quick rematches and experimentation with different fighter combinations, and the two-fighter team structure creates interesting synergies. Clear iconography and readable cards keep the game flowing, while the many possible combinations ensure that no two matches are the same. Because nothing can be changed during the battle phase, every card reveal brings tension and uncertainty.
