Super-Infinite: The Transformations of John Donne – Winner of the Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction 2022 Rundellov Katherine (2023)

John Donne lived myriad lives. At times a religious outsider and social disaster, at others a celebrity preacher and establishment darling, he was incapable of being just one thing. He was a legal scholar, sea adventurer, MP, priest and Dean of St Pauls Cathedral, as well as perhaps the greatest love poet in the history of the English language. In Super-Infinite, Katherine Rundell explores the many sides of Donnes extraordinary life, his obsessions, his blazing words and his tempestuous Elizabethan times, presenting him as a remarkable mind and a lesson in living. The book won the Baillie Gifford Prize for Non-Fiction 2022 and was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award 2023, the Duff Cooper Prize for Non-Fiction 2023 and the Slightly Foxed First Biography Prize 2023.
