Stars of Chaos: Sha Po Lang 4 Priest (2024)

The discovery of violet gold, a vital fuel for steam-powered machines, propels the Great Liang Empire into an age of prosperity. For Chang Geng, a young man raised on the impoverished northern border, the empires concerns are as distant as the stars above. When northern raiders attack his small village, he discovers that the life he knows is a lie. His mother, his teacher and even his godfather Shen Shiliu, whom he trusts more than anyone, are not what they seem. As enemy nations close in, Chang Geng follows his godfather to the heart of the imperial capital, where a greater fate awaits him. This English-language danmei, or Boys Love, steampunk series by priest is set in a world resembling historical China and is built around the desire between two men. It has inspired multimedia adaptations including the live-action dramas Guardian and Word of Honor.
