Slavn asy Bulawayo NoViolet (2025)

This Czech-language novel by Zimbabwean writer NoViolet Bulawayo is an allegory of the regime of dictator Robert Mugabe. It openly follows in the tradition of George Orwells Animal Farm, portraying individual political figures and social groups as representatives of the animal kingdom. The story takes place in the fictional country of Jidada, which nevertheless shares many historical and political events with Zimbabwe.
