The Czech-language children’s fantasy novel follows nine-year-old Sally, an unusual girl who loves frilly dresses, creepy talking dolls and rainbows, which she chases like butterflies. She believes that finding the end of a rainbow will bring magic and grant her wishes. When an extraordinary rainbow appears over her town, Sally sets off to find where it touches the ground, even though this means entering the misty district everyone has warned her about. She is accompanied by her turtle, carried on her shoulder, and her classmate Timmy Taco, who is secretly in love with her, hates walking and travels everywhere by bicycle. Their seemingly romantic adventure in pursuit of a dream takes a strange turn when they meet oddly blurred children in the misty district and discover, to their astonishment, that the end of the rainbow is not an unreachable chimera.
