Sentimentln cesta klovskij Viktor (2011)

This remarkable novel-memoir presents a harsh wartime portrait of Russia shaken by the Red Revolution, with confusion and heroism drowned in blood and vodka. It is infused with the Oriental refinement of Persia at that time and interpreted with the charm of the almost extinct classical Russian intelligentsia, offering unusual insight into the Russian soul and its history from a writer better known as an important literary scholar.
