Saltswept Watt Katalina (2026)

A pirate faces the gallows, a farmer receives a terrible ultimatum to save her daughter, and an acolyte rises to become a priestess, only to discover that a blessing can truly be a curse. These unlikely companions join forces with an inscrutable pickpocket and a talking ottercat to pursue the most hopeless of causes: sailing into the Maelstrom, a raging whirlpool from which no one has ever escaped, and finding the mysterious treasure hidden within. Their quest will test their fragile allegiance, but wealth is not the only thing at stake. The magic of the world is in peril, the barrier between life and death has never been so thin, and in the Bastion, the seat of power in Paranish, the queens unquenchable thirst threatens everyone. Lush and lyrical, this vibrant fantasy debut is the first book in an epic duology inspired by Southeast Asian mythology, featuring a magical world, found family, high-seas adventure and swashbuckling heroes. The book is in English.
