Richard III. Shakespeare William (2020)

This Czech-language edition presents one of Shakespeares most powerful history plays, recounting Richard IIIs bloody path to the throne. While the play treats its title character and historical events with considerable freedom, it offers a highly dramatic story. Richard III is the most villainous of all Shakespeares characters: within his deformed body lives a monstrous soul, and his desire for power and the English crown stops at nothing. The tragic historical drama ends on the battlefield, where Richard fights for his throne. After his horse is killed, he cries his famous final line: A kingdom for a horse!
