Requiem of the Rose King, Vol. 8 Kanno Aya (2018)

The intrigue and royal conspiracy of Shakespeares Richard III receive a dark manga twist. Richard, the ambitious third son of the House of York, believes he is cursed and condemned from birth to eternal darkness, but is it fate or his own tormented longings that set him on the path to destruction? Based on an early draft of Richard III, Aya Kannos dark fantasy places the would-be king between worlds, classes, and good and evil. Ten years after the kings death, Richards feud with his sibling has deepened, while the witch Jane tempts the new king with her mysterious charms. Amid this swirl of human desire, Richard reaches toward his future and rises once more in defense of the York family.
