The book explains the causes and background of this revolutionary explosion in unexpected connections, introducing not only major figures such as Jan ika and Jan elivsk, but also a host of remarkable people who have been unfairly forgotten. It examines how the events course and symbolism inspired political upheavals in 1483 and 1618 and how the term became deeply rooted in Czech historical consciousness. This revised edition includes recently established findings and an updated set of notes with references to sources and essential scholarly literature.
