Pohdky z Valaskho krlovstv – CD

These folk tales from the Wallachian region, recorded by Bene Metod Kulda, are retold by one of the greatest Czech poets, Jan Skcel. Skcel preserves the immediacy of Kuldas storytelling while enriching it with beautiful language and generous humor. The stories are clear, honest and uncompromising, yet full of magic and mystery. The eight tales are narrated by the Wallachian king himself, Bolek Polvka, who brings out their humor with a relaxed, playful interpretation while also telling them with gentleness and fatherly warmth. The stories are in Czech: Foolish Jan, The Glass Mountain, The Magician, The Four Brothers, The Poor Blacksmith, Boots, Hat and Cloak, Three White Roses, and Janek with a Posy.
