Podivn ppad doktora Jekylla a pana Hyda Stevenson Robert Louis (2021)

Alongside a new translation of Robert Louis Stevensons famous novella Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1886), this volume contains the stories The Body Snatcher (1884) and Markheim (1885). The three texts, loosely inspired by criminal cases of their time, are connected by recurring themes: the divided and unstable human soul, the fascination of death and the apparent omnipotence of reason. Stevenson also demonstrates his mastery of concise, evocative descriptions of settings and personalities, as well as sharp, ambiguous dialogue. The contents are in Czech.
