Plavba sn Kek David (2022)

This gripping account follows a father and his ten-year-old son sailing a small yacht across the Atlantic. Children aged six and over learn about the beauty and dangers of seas and oceans, the basic terms of yachting, meteorology, marine life and the countries visited by the main characters. They also discover what sailing through a storm involves and whether it is possible to encounter dangerous pirates at sea. The story is accompanied by the authors own illustrations. David Kek, one of the most successful Czech yachtsmen, wrote the book while separated from his family during a difficult period in his life. It also conveys the message that mistakes and hesitation can be transformed into something good, and that even in hard times it is necessary to keep going, make plans, hope and believe in good endings.
