This workbook combines learning with discovering nature and its inhabitants. Alongside engaging examples and exercises, children find eight articles about different animals, included so they can take a break from counting while learning about the animals lives and habitats. The workbook aims not only to develop counting skills but also to encourage childrens relationship with nature. The animal stories help them gain a deeper understanding of the world around them and greater respect for nature, making learning both enjoyable and useful. Children can acquire new mathematical knowledge as well as information about animals that may inspire greater interest in nature. The Czech-language workbook follows Counting with Animals and is intended for curious preschool and school-age children. It is divided into three sections that guide children step by step through the world of numbers, with photographs of real animals making learning engaging and encouraging children to explore numbers and the nature around them. The first section covers numbers 15, introducing basic numerals and teaching children to recognise and count animals, as well as practise addition and subtraction. The second expands their knowledge to numbers 110 and introduces more challenging examples involving addition and subtraction. The third section focuses on recognising colours, shapes, fruit and vegetables, and directions through entertaining animal-based exercises. Some tasks take the form of word problems that encourage children to think.
