Pijde na t esenbk Sichinger Martin (2025)

This Czech-language novel by umava native Martin Sichinger takes place in Vimperk over four summer days in 1975. The narrator is ten-year-old Michal Zdek, the hero of the novels Tomorrow Olah Will Come and Hangover of a umava Summer. During a holiday adventure involving the search for a stolen scooter, Michal encounters the subject of bullying, which was rarely discussed in socialist schools. The story captures a childs desire to deal with a world where pressure takes surprisingly different forms, as well as the ability to face the consequences of situations that sometimes get painfully out of childrens hands.
