This Czech-language audiobook presents nine historical stories about Czech rulers as a sequence of thrilling dramatic situations. It tells of Duke Boleslav II and Bishop Adalbert, Duke Oldich and Boena, Duke Betislav and Jitka, King Vladislav I and the brave Czech knights, Agnes of Bohemia, the Iron and Golden King Pemysl Otakar II, King Vclav II and the knight Zvi of Falkentejn, King John of Luxembourg and Elika Pemyslovna, and the Czech king and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV. Alena Jekov portrays the great figures of Czech history as living human beings experiencing victories, disappointments, defeats, joy, love, hatred, uncertainty and doubt. The dramatic events are made even more compelling by the knowledge that the battles, escapes from prison in disguise, abductions and intrigues really happened. History comes alive through the spirited performances of Jan Potmil, Krytof Rmsk, Kristna Bokov and Jenovfa Bokov.
