Panoptikum Msta praskho – CDmp3 (te Otakar Brousek, Jaromr Meduna, Saa Railov)

This Czech-language audiobook presents the concluding collection of Ji Marek’s detective stories set in Prague during the First Republic. The stories draw on real events that once caused a sensation and follow Chief Police Councillor Knotek, his successor Councillor Vactek, and members of the murder squad, Inspectors Boue, Brek and Mrzek. These cases later appeared in the television series Hn lid msta praskho and Panoptikum msta praskho, as well as in four feature films featuring Councillor Vactek. Through the author’s gentle humour, kindness, compassion for human failings and mastery of language, a nostalgic world of the capital and its outskirts comes to life, together with a host of distinctive characters. The recording is read by Otakar Brousek, Jaromr Meduna and Saa Railov.
