This Czech-language book examines oligarchy throughout history and in different parts of the world. The common feature of oligarchs across the ages is that they are defined by wealth, which creates their power while also exposing them to threats. Their pursuit of wealth varies according to the dangers they face, including how directly they participate in the coercion on which all property claims are based and whether they act independently or collectively. These variations produce four types of oligarchy: warlord, ruling, sultanistic and civil. The publication appears in a completely new graphic design for the series.
