This Czech-language book reflects on the danger of exploiting the anniversary of the end of the Second World War to rewrite history, both at home and abroad. Vclav Klaus argues that the war itself is no longer the issue, but that its continually shifting interpretation remains highly significant for the future. He expresses concern for the countrys existence in a troubled world that questions the institution of the nation-state, and rejects the prospect of the Czech Republic dissolving within the European Union like a sugar cube in tea.
