O lsce Ficino Marsilio (2023)

This book presents Marsilio Ficinos Commentary on Platos Symposium, On Love, considered the finest and most influential of his writings. In imitation of Platos Symposium, relocated to Medici Florence, Ficino offers a synthesis of Platonism inspired by pagan and Christian authors of late antiquity, especially Plotinus, Augustine and Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite. Love is the central theme of this philosophy. Together with Dante, Ficino understands it as a divine force that, through the beauty of the beloved, leads the wayward human soul to knowledge of God. This is a Latin-Czech edition.
