Normln dt Kopeck Tereza (2026)

This Czech-language novel for readers aged 11 and over follows fourteen-year-old Aneka, who suddenly moves from Plze to a remote place in the countryside. She has an anxiety disorder, and her parents, especially her mother, want her to become a normal child. They believe a peaceful environment, homemade jams, a regular routine and goats milk will help. But what happens when the anxiety keeps returning and literally makes Anekas legs give way, even though she follows every rule? What triggers her fears, and why do they disappear whenever she is near Vilm, the most restless and least organised person she has ever met? In her new book, Tereza Kopeck returns to the subject of anxiety, which she previously explored in the comic Naprost lenost, once again showing how convincingly and creatively she can address a serious topic with a light touch.
