Nevdn – CDmp3 (te Radz Mcha)

This Czech-language audiobook presents Milan Kunderas acclaimed novel, a meditation on time, memory, love, beauty, home and the emptiness in which the author bade farewell to his homeland. Completed in 1999 and published in more than fifty countries, the novel was originally written in French as Lignorance and translated into Czech by Anna Kareninov. The timeless theme of returning from abroad is set against Homers Odyssey, as the author discovers that returns are possible neither to a place, nor to a time, nor to memories. The protagonists are followed from the ignorance of youth, which nevertheless determines the course of later life, to sudden and considered decisions on the threshold of old age. Their questions about the meaning of life are questions each of us seeks to answer. Their paths cross, but continue in different directions. Born of exile and homesickness, the novel travelled the world for twenty years before appearing in the authors native language and is now read by Radz Mcha.
