Nebe nad Kilimandrem Jacobsov Anne (2021)

Charlotta Harmsen dreams of distant lands and journeys to exotic countries and is in no hurry to marry. She is twenty-two when she receives a marriage proposal from the much older Christian Ohlsen. His business, selling exotic spices, tobacco and goods from overseas, fascinates her so much that she accepts. Before long, however, she bitterly regrets her decision. Christian is unfaithful, and the business is also facing financial ruin. Charlotta realises that they have only one chance for the future: to leave their homeland and begin a new life somewhere far away. The book is in Czech.
