Na zpadn front klid Remarque Erich Maria (2020)

This celebrated novel about the First World War tells of a generation of boys who in 1914 marched straight from their school desks, with waving flags, enthusiasm and military music, into the slaughter of war. They return spiritually and physically shattered, even if they have escaped the deadly shells. The novel is a harsh indictment and truthful portrayal of the tragedy of war, which does not kill only individuals but maims entire generations. The most terrible thing is not the explosion of a shell, but the human heart it strikes. The contents are in Czech.
